Revival In Gabonzie: Martin Tenyana’s Story

Pastor Martin Tenyana is in charge of the community church in Gabonzie in the Banda Ahenkro district of the Bono Region of Ghana. He is known for his love for the Lord and passion to preach the good news of the Kingdom to the lost.

Unfortunately, his dreams and plans for his church suffered a major setback when he lost his sight at the prime of his life. Martin remembered being hit in the eye by an object one day. The pain and discomfort he felt in the eye forced him to seek medical help from several doctors. He was eventually diagnosed of glaucoma, a situation which gradually blurred his vision until he became blind.

Pastor Martin was however not deterred from playing his role in church. In spite of his blindness, he still preached in church after the school children in the congregation had read the scriptures. But when the children left the village for the city, it became difficult for Pastor Martin to conduct his service because there was no one to read the scriptures for him. This was quite a big blow to him because people from other villages in the neighbourhood worshipped in the church.

Early this year, Theovision visited the community to introduce the Audio Bible in the Dagaare language to them. The entire community exploded with joy when they heard the Word of God in their own language. Pastor Martin in particular was extremely happy! This was exactly what he prayed for and now, see what the Lord has done!

Thanks to the audio Bible, Pastor Martin’s church is vibrant and alive once again. There is no need for anyone to read the Bible in church. Everyone can hear the Word of God directly in the Dagaare language, thanks to the audio Bible. Pastor Martin is able to plan his sermons as before and the congregants are equally excited they can hear and understand the Bible for themselves in their language.

The audio Bible has helped us to plan our services better. It has made it easier for everyone to hear, understand and relate to the message,” Pastor Martin observed. “Indeed, there is a revival among our members as a result of this new experience. May God bless Theovision for thinking about the Dagaare people and making the word of God available to us in our mother tongue,” he said.
