Welcome to Theovision International

Moody Radio to travel to Ghana; staff and students to train nationals in radio

In the fall of 2012, Dr. Paul Nyquist shared his vision for broadcasting, publishing and education at the Moody Bible Institute to have a more global impact. Having already established relationships with international media ministries, the leadership of Moody Radio began thinking and praying about ways that they could partner with those ministries. Through research and dialogue, the need for training in other nations became obvious.

With a pool of extremely talented and experienced media professionals on staff, Moody Radio began working on the Global Partners Training Initiative. In partnership with media ministries from Eastern Europe, Moody Radio hosted its first Global Partners Training Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria last November. One hundred and fifteen delegates from eight countries attended the training, which taught skills such as program production, marketing and engineering.

My heart is filled with song and appreciation; as the good Lord helped Theovision International survive a storm that threatened the survival of this ministry. The storm in the year 2011 was quick and strong but the Lord proved indeed that He was with us. Like Job’s misfortune, one problem followed the other in quick succession to try to destroy the ministry of the oral Bible in Africa but the Lord helped us out. During the storm the words to the hymn "It is Well with My Soul" by Horatio Spafford encouraged us greatly; “When peace like a river attendeth our way. When sorrows like sea billows rolled. Whatever my lot, Thou taught me to say it is well with my soul”

2011 was the year we had to dispense with the services of many of our staff for lack of resources. It was heart breaking to lose some of these committed staff. It was not all stories of gloom and doom though. This same year we kick started Project Hannah, a powerful women centered ministry, did many medical outreaches in remote areas, built water wells in two villages, established many more Bible listening centers in Senior High and Primary Schools, expanded our Bible Listening program to more prisons and communities, was able to continue broadcasting at all the radio stations, built the Tree of Life Clinic to support our medical outreach, and managed to record audio Bibles in 10 languages in Africa.

UPDATE FROM THEOVISION KENYA SERVICE CENTER

Hope in the slums: Bible listening in Kibera: Chemi Chemi Medical Clinic

Praise God! A Bible Listening program has begun at Chemi Chemi (Life Giving Springs in Swahili language) Medical Clinic which is run by the Nairobi Baptist Church-Ngong’ Road. This medical facility is located in Kibera-Nairobi, one of the largest slums in Africa. Theovision’s center in Kenya mounted two loud speakers in strategic sites within the premises of the clinic to be used to play the audio Bible to enable the patients and staff to listen to the Word of God in the Swahili language. Majority of people who are in this slum are “living below poverty line” and can hardly aord a meal a day let alone buy a Bible. Besides this, over 60% of the people in that slum are illiterate. The ratio of Muslims to Christians in that region is at par and therefore the audio-bible in Swahili is a tremendous tool for witnessing and evangelism.
